Former Flames coach Patrick Mabedi is demanding approximately K917 million in compensation from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) following an Industrial Relations Court ruling that his contract termination was unfair and unlawful. According to Nation Online, the substantial claim includes K426.3 million for unlawful dismissal, K150.7 million for motor vehicle benefits, and additional funds for unfair labour practices, notice pay, and unpaid travel allowances.

The court has adjourned the hearing to April 28 to allow for a final determination of the exact compensation amount, as reported by Nyasa Times.

In netball, the Malawi Under-21 squad is preparing to travel to South Africa to compete in the upcoming Telkom Netball League. According to the Cape Times, the young Malawian side will feature as a special invitation team in the regional tournament. They will take the court during Power Week 1 of the competition, which is scheduled to run from April 21 to May 2 in Durban.
