Blantyre Adventist Hospital has become the first medical facility in Malawi to receive accreditation from the Council for Health Service Accreditation of Southern Africa. The 45-bed private institution achieved an overall performance score of 97, meeting international compliance standards aligned with the International Society for Quality in Health Care.

Update: UNICEF has detailed that new funding from China will be used to upgrade maternity and newborn wards at 20 health facilities across three Malawian districts, according to The Borgen Project. The initiative will supply necessary medicines and medical equipment while supporting the training of community health workers, advancing Malawi's national framework to expand maternal care into underserved areas.

In the southern region, a mobile health program is bringing medical services to the rural East Bank locality of Nsanje district, according to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. Operating on a fortnightly schedule, the outreach clinics provide routine immunisations, antenatal care, and HIV testing to residents who previously faced a 16-kilometre commute to the nearest health centre. Local health workers note that the initiative has successfully identified and vaccinated previously unimmunised children.
