Update: The Malawi women's national football team, the Scorchers, will face Australia's Matildas in the FIFA Series 2026 in Kenya without key attackers Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga, according to Matildas.com.au. Temwa is returning from a season-ending injury with her club, the Kansas City Current, while Tabitha is not included in the squad for the upcoming series. Their absence will give younger players, including Faith Chinzimu and Rose Kadzere, valuable field time ahead of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in July.

Update: The Malawi women's cricket team secured a 53-run victory over Zambia in Plate Match 2 of the BCA Kalahari Women's T20I Tournament in Gaborone, Botswana, Sports Tak reports. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Malawi posted a total of 86 runs, led by a 22-run knock from Praise Maziya. In response, Zambia was bowled out for 33 runs in the 14th over, with Maziya and Nancy Chabula picking up crucial wickets to seal the win.

Update: Mighty Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira, who is currently on a three-week coaching placement with Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle, received a football kit donation to send back to his home country, according to the Scottish Football Supporters Association. The gear was donated by St. Cradocs FC and will benefit the Play Soccer Malawi initiative based in Blantyre.
