A Shakespeare theatre collaboration between Scottish and Malawian artists is set to bring visiting performers from Scotland to Malawi ahead of next month’s Easter Theatre Festival in Blantyre, according to The Times Group. The Times Group reports that the festival will be held at the Portuguese Club and will include activities that connect the visiting artists with local performers.

The partnership brings together Scotland’s Chameleon Theatre and Arts D&G with Malawi’s Solomonic Peacocks Theatre, according to The Times Group. The Times Group reports that local performers Joshua Bhima and Robert Magasa are part of the project to develop an intercultural production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, with a public work-in-progress sharing scheduled for March 29, 2026.
