According to Nyasa Times, the Malawian government has dismissed recent economic allegations made by United Transformation Movement president Dalitso Kabambe. Government Spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba rejected the claims on October 14, describing them as unsubstantiated political rhetoric. Update: Political analysts George Chaima and Victor Chipofya have renewed calls for major parties to resolve their internal factions, following previous reports of leadership rifts. The analysts warned that the Malawi Congress Party, the Democratic Progressive Party, and the United Transformation Movement must consolidate their grassroots structures ahead of the 2030 General Elections. Additionally, engineer Vitumbiko Mumba publicly criticized the Malawi Congress Party on October 12 as he positions himself for future political campaigns.

President Arthur Peter Mutharika's ongoing international travels have generated domestic debate, Malawi24 reports. On October 12, Chief Secretary to the Government Justin Saidi issued a statement clarifying that the President is currently on a private visit in South Africa. The official response followed public speculation and unverified rumors that the leader had traveled to India for medical treatment.

In government administration news, Local Government Minister Ben Malunga Phiri issued a strict warning to corrupt public officials during the October 13 launch of the National Decentralisation Strategy in Mchinji. According to Nyasa Times, Phiri stated that individuals who undermine service delivery will face dismissal and arrest. Additionally, the government has appointed Brain Magoya as the new Chairperson of the Higher Education Students Loans and Grants Board. Deputy Chief Secretary Christopher S. J. Mchenga confirmed the appointment, which is now subject to approval by the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament.

Former President Lazarus Chakwera traveled to Accra on October 12, according to Nyasa Times. He and former First Lady Monica Chakwera are visiting Ghana to attend the 10th Triennial Congress of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship, scheduled to take place between October 14 and October 16.
