Update: Silver Strikers Ladies have made history by becoming the first Malawian team to reach the semi-finals of the COSAFA Women's Champions League. According to ThamiSoccer and Nyasa Times, the team secured their spot on Tuesday after defeating Eswatini side Nsingizini Hotspurs 5-1 at the Gaborone United Stadium in Botswana. Carolyne Mathyola led the victory with a hat-trick, while Grace Kakangula and Gladys Banda scored the remaining goals. National Women's Football Committee chairperson Adella Migogo praised the achievement, stating that the result shows the growing quality of Malawi's domestic women's league.

In local football administration, the Football Association of Malawi has officially opened the mid-season transfer window for the 2026 to 2027 season. According to Nkhoma Synod Radio and Goal Malawi, the registration period began on Tuesday, August 25, and will close on September 21. The window allows Super League clubs and other registered teams to sign new players and adjust their squads for the second half of the football calendar. Football authorities have urged all clubs to complete their transfer activities within the approved dates.
